Emerging Green Builders: Lunch & Learn – Federal Stimulus Package

Come and learn about what’s happening in the realm of green regulation at our upcoming Lunch & Learn.  Join Julie Perrus, Mike Mergens and Joey Vossen of Larkin Hoffman Attorneys as they discuss the federal stimulus package and its impacts on green development and sustainability, provide an update on green schools and design, as well as an overview of state legislation moving through the process that may impact green development in Minnesota.

Emerging Green Builders: LEED Seminar on Fly Ash Stabilization

Join EGB and the Associated General Contractors Construction Leadership Council for a LEED seminar focusing specifically on Fly Ash Stabilization given by Glen Ferguson, PHD, PE Chief Regional Geotechnical Engineer with Klienfelder of Leneza, Kansas.  Along with the seminar, there will be a live stabilization demonstration which includes the application of Fly Ash, predetermined water application and soil incorporation on a street in Lakeville!

 

Tuesday, May 12th

2pm – Seminar held at Buckstone Lodge in the Buck Hill Ski Hill Meeting Room, 15400 Buck Hill Road, Burnsville, MN.

3:30pm – Live Demonstration located at 165th and Ipava in Lakeville, MN.  Parking is available at the school and church on 165th west of the project intersection.

5:15pm – Social Gathering at Carbone’s Pizza, County Road 46 (165th and Cedar Ave).

Emerging Green Builders: Update on Design Competition

The 2009 Natural Talent Design Competition is drawing to a close in May, which means that the awards ceremony is coming up!  Mark your calendars for Thursday, June 4th (at 7 pm) when we will be celebrating the hard work of these teams.  The location will be announced in coming weeks.  This year’s competition focuses on a proposed Habitat For Humanity site in Brooklyn Center.  I hope that you can be there to support your friends and community of green builders!  If you would like more information, or would like to get involved, please contact Tim Chapp at tjchapp@leoadaly.com.  Look for more information in the next Chapter Newsletter!
